It comes with six rechargeable NiMH batteries, as the goal according to Engadget is “to keep two batteries in each of their peripherals and two in the charger.

” As an improvement over conventional battery charges, the Apple iteration hosts very low vampire energy, in that once the charge cycle is complete, power consumption is automatically reduced to 30 milliwaits, which is 10x better than the industry average.
