Gitzo G1228
$46.99
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Lighter than most typical tripods. Working height capacity is good considering its small form factor when folded. Legs provide a stable base despite their lightness.
The Cons:Somewhat top-heavy, prone to some tipping if not careful. Leglocks can be frustrating to use and should be checked carefully. Expensive compared to most tripods.
The Gitzo G1228 is a rigid-design tripod construct to hold most 35mm and medium format equipment, as well as some light field 4x5 cameras. Constructed of carbon fiber, the tripod benefits from vibration reduction and lightweight portability.
