This also represents an expansion of the JVC GY-HM100U, with most of the same features and several new ones. An industry standard bayonet lens mount is now used, and a Canon 14:1 lens is included along with the ability to swap it out for other lenses available from JVC. Both MOV and MP4 file formats can be recorded to natively, and SDHC or SxS storage can be swapped out without having to turn off the camera. High definition standards are widely supported up to 1080p, and variable frame rate recording allows over or under crank effects. A built-in clip viewer and management system allow for some pre-editing to be done on the fly as well as quick reviews of what was captured, and works through a 4.3 inch flip-out LCD interface.
