Nikon MB-D11

$239.95 Released January, 2011

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Official Nikon product - solid build quality, ensures compatibility. Makes holding the camera in the portrait orientation and hitting the shutter release a lot more comfortable and stable. Weather sealed magnesium body - just like the D7000 itself.

The Cons:High price point.

The Nikon MB-D11 is a high-quality grip / battery pack accessory designed exclusively for the Nikon D7000 digital camera. It’s a lightweight device that combines a convenient vertical grip, which is useful since the D7000 camera is rather small and difficult to carry for users with large hands, with a battery pack.

Product Shot 2 In particular, the latter can be outfitted with either one Nikon EN-EL15 battery (preferred) or six AA batteries, which is obviously less convenient and ultimately more expensive in the long run. As for the grip functionality, the MB-D11 battery pack features the same buttons as the D7000, but it uses a more convenient joystick versus the round pad on the camera, making it optimal for selecting focus points in vertical or horizontal position.
