Philips DSR 708

The Philips DSR 708 is a discontinued DirecTV satellite receiver with a built-in TiVo DVR. The unit is limited to standard-definition content, featuring composite and S-video connectivity and an optical digital audio output supporting Dolby Digital surround sound.

The DSR 708 has double the storage capacity of the 704, to which it is otherwise identical. The DVR lets the user pause and rewind live TV, and play back video in slow-motion or instant-replay. Season Pass enables automatic recording of every episode of a show. Dual tuners let the 708 record one show while another plays live. The program guide displays listings 14 days in advance and includes multiple options to customize channel listings.
