The Pioneer S-IC831-LR is an 8” in-ceiling speaker described as offering “a home entertainment experience currently unmatched by any manufacturer” when combined alongside equivalent audio and video products.

The fourth of four Pioneer S-IC in-ceiling speakers, the Pioneer S-IC831D is a slight upgrade from the Pioneer S-IC821D in that it offers 3-position (versus 2-position) treble contour controls to customize high frequency outputs to an individual’s specific tastes. In addition, the S-IC831-LR sports a large 8” Polypropylene woofer and one 1” pivoting soft dome tweeter. The S-IC831D also boasts an 8 Ohm impedance rating for higher-quality amplification with single and multi zone applications, and internal Thermal Resetting Protection Circuitry that offers greater reliability and reduces the need for frequent visits to replace damaged speakers. The Pioneer S-IC821D retails as a pair (two speakers) for a slightly more expensive $475.00 (versus $225.00 per one) and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
