The Cons:Directional tweeters may lack fidelity in dedicated audio applications - sufficient for television and movie viewing. Speaker grill can be very difficult to remove after initial seating - not suited to temporary use. May be difficult to integrate with existing surround sound systems - no more than two are recommended for for a 5.1 setup.

The RC80i is an entry-level in-ceiling/in-wall speaker from Polk Audio. Sold in pairs, the 2-way, 100W RC80i features a single 8" driver and a 1", metalized soft-dome tweeter swivel-mounted for angled audio output.

With a 35Hz-20kHz frequency response range, the speakers are a step up from the RC60i, which feature smaller drivers and tweeters, indicating a less-defined upper range in addition to an inferior bass response. A moisture-resistant construction enables safe use in a bathroom or sauna, and the grilles can be painted, allowing the speakers to blend into any room.
