Sony SAT-B3

The Sony SAT-B3 is an obsolete DirecTV satellite receiver. Released in the mid-1990s, the SAT-B3 features S-video and dual A/V outputs, allowing the user to connect it to a television and hi-fi receiver.

Optical digital audio connectivity enables transmission of Dolby Digital surround sound. The software is a version of Sony's Digital Satellite System, featuring pay-per-view movies starting every 30 minutes, an on-screen guide that sorts programs into categories, and a 10-event timer function that can be used in conjunction with a VCR to schedule show recordings.
